I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Big rooms and I had an amazing bathtub. Thin walls, but that’s almost everywhere here I’m starting to notice. But nice calm area, serene atmosphere at the hotel, good breakfast and very kind man as nightreceptionist. Would stay here again.

This is a really nice comfortable spot to stay. I like the birdlife sounds in the morning and was fine with the temple being close by. The rooms are not very sound proof though so any moderately noisy neighbours will be easily heard and can interrupt your quiet time or sleep. Still liked the place more the other hotels we stayed at in the region. 1 odd thing that happened was that I was charged for the stay on check out even though I had paid via debit card when booking .. but managed to show my bank statement before I left so had the amount refunded with an apology .. so this is something to keep an eye on if you are a tourist as you may miss out on any refund if you move on to another location. Still liked the place.

SugarCane is a lovely, relaxed place to stay. It’s a little bit out of town but that means you leave behind the hustle and bustle. The breakfast is good with porridge, bacon, toast etc. We got some washing done here as well. Grab taxis were very useful given the location.

“Modern Thai-designed hotel ” Very responsive and helpful hotel staff. Good breakfast selection, western breakfast with soft bread is my all time favourite; homemade thai sausage is a bomb, we loved the kick of chilli. In-room robes provided. premium toiletries - body & hair shampoo and conditioner. free flow of drinking water in the fridge at the lobby. only 1 lacking on the room as there is only 1 mirror in bathroom. swimming pool is small but good for hot days dipping and kids activity.

I was really looking forward to my stay here after reading all the great reviews. I was quite disappointed on arrival. The room was big but seemed very cheaply done & could have been cleaner. - Loose towel racks & wobbly shower curtain rack. - Dirty dustbins & overall not clean enough for my liking (I went over everything with disinfectant wipes). - Only one small face mirror in the bathroom. - Knobs falling off cubboards - Bathroom smelt of sewerage every now again. - Rather dark room & not all lighting worked. The same breakfast every day, table service. Pool area was nice but very slippery. Air-conditioning in room was good. The staff were friendly. Some of the friendliness wore off when I did not book any outings at the hotel (I organised everything myself). All in all a 5 out of 10 rating from me. Would not recommend or stay again. No atmosphere in the day time, reception area cold, & unfriendly looking. The whole place could be so very pretty but the way it is now just didn't appeal to me.

A nice small hotel around a small outside pool. Short walking distance into the old town, helpful staff who made sure we got the most of our time in Chiang mai.

Hotel is ideally located 10 minutes away from the old city in Chiang Mai. Room was very spacious, clean, the beds are very comfortable and shower was excellent. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The pool are is well maintained and the sun beds are very comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel and cannot speak more highly of it.

The rooms were very spacious and the bed was comfortable. They had interconnecting rooms which enabled us to watch over our two young children yet have some space to ourselves. The breakfast is delicious and consistent though limited. Swimming pool was quite cold. The staff were very polite and helpful and they were the highlight of our stay, very sincere and warm. We also appreciated the warm shower and bathtubs in each room.
